TOTEMS

While no (conscious) connection to my Tribe piece, totem poles are linked to recording the history of tribes. Thus, they represent connection and heritage. That connection can be vertically from individual piece to piece upward (or downward) along the totem, or, in my collection of multiple totems, horizontally from pole to pole. It still holds true that the history, or the story, is incredibly powerful on

a traditional wood vertical pole. It demands the viewer to read it, or even meditate on it. As you impart symbolism to the individual creatures on the totems, it creates a particular language of creatures and characters. The white totems are more contemplative while the color totems are energetic and vibrant. No glory except thru your stories!
